Zero cooperation

On 23 December 2017 I placed a formal request in a Pretoria store for a fashion delivery (according to the slow method) of a top as there was some stock of it in a Cape Town store.

As this type of fashion delivery takes 2 to 3 weeks according to Truworths and I haven't heard anything about the delivery, I followed up at Customer Services and talked to Jessica who informed me that she see on my statement the fashion delivery was billed at the Langeberg Mall store on 29 December 2017. When I told her I can see that on my statement but want to know when will I receive it, she claimed that it is in the process of shipping that could take up to 3 to 4 weeks (that is not true because all the Truworths staff always tells you that this type of fashion delivery takes 2 to 3 weeks). When I mentioned this to her, she asked me if I still want the top. I told her that all the waiting with this cost lying on my account is not worthwhile so she must please cancel the delivery and credit my account accordingly. She then said no she cannot do that. I have to wait for the delivery to arrive, receive it and only then I could return and credit it. When I refused and told her that I insist that she cancel the delivery action and credit my account with immediate effect, she just dropped the phone in my ear.

Up to now I still haven't heard anything about the delivery and also still don't know if my account is credited with the amount or not.

So is this the way Truworths train their staff to handle customers? Is this the way Truworths operates and is this the type of service one have to expect from the so called wonderful Truworths in the future?

Thank you for bringing your recent experience with our Fashion Delivery service to our attention and allowing us to provide you with feedback.

Following our investigation, we have ascertained that the item ordered were not delivered to you on time due to a delay on our stores’ side. We have addressed this matter with management at the store to ensure that this remains an isolated incident.

Furthermore, we are pleased to confirm that the garment ordered was credited on your account as requested. We hope that this incident will not discourage you from supporting us in the future. Please feel free to contact us on *** or e-mail *** if you have any further queries or concerns.

Yours sincerely,

My bad experience with Truworths' absolute poor fashion delivery service didn't stop here. Jessica from Head Office told me that this item of which the price was R440 when I requested the fashion delivery was billed for R399 and on that info I requested that it must be credited because it's already 4 weeks and if they don't know where it is I'm not going to wait another length of time with R399 lying on my account but she notified me that she cannot credit the item, I have to receive it and credit it then myself. Therefor, because I was not informed of any delivery or any further action in this regard my father stopped by Truworths Woodlands to find out if the item arrived there. He was informed by Jeffrey that it did indeed arrived there and he credited it on the 23 January 2018 without my knowledge on request of a certain Sipho from Head Office. When my father asked him why they didn't inform me of the arrival of the item he claimed that they had tried to call me but I didn't answer my phone. Ironically the date he claimed to unsuccessfully called me was the same date, namely 22 January 2018, I called them at Truworths Woodlands (at15:44:08) as well as Head Office (at 16:11:23) to inquire about the whereabouts of this fashion delivery item and nobody could assist me with it. And then the item was credited just the next day. In other words the item was already at Woodlands when I called in and nobody knew about it. As that item was already sold, My father then requested on my behalf another fashion delivery for the same item as Jeffrey informed him that their system shows there are still 8 of it in stock in Cape Town. The next day my father saw Jeffrey again in store and he informed my father that his manager, Tebogo already called Cape Town to ensure that the fashion Delivery will be done. And now, two weeks later I was informed that there is no more stock of this item and the delivery could not be done. When I called Jeffrey at Woodlands he now claims that he told my father that there is little stock and it is very possible that the fashion delivery could fail and now suddenly Tebogo also don't know anything about making a phone call to ensure that this fashion delivery will happen. When I called Head Office to inquire how this could be that only after two weeks they became aware of this no stock fact she just said yes this the case with customer requests. So this is it! Truworths' service is deteriorating at a super pace. You cannot actually complain about their service because there is no service!
