Worst service from Truworths Richards Bay

Hello Peter, I am highly disappointed by Truworths, Richards Bay branch, particularly, Miss Seline Naidoo . I bought an item at Truworths Gateway Mall in Durban for a wedding that was taking place on Wednesday the 16th Dec. I bought the item and when I arrived in Richards Bay I realized that the item is not matching the wedding colour that was a more bright green compared to the lime-ish colour that I had chosen from the ****** Mary range. I then took the item to Richards Bay branch Truworths early wednesday morning before the wedding started so that I could get an exchange or refund if they do not have something that can replace that item. I was greeted with the worst kind of service, despite my sister and I having driven all the way to Gateway, Truworths to source dresses for the wedding, and the fact that my sister still had her well-fitting R1300 dress from the same range. When I tried to exchange my item I was told that the item does not exist and that my slip does not match any items that Truworths has! (laughable, considering that the slip is a Truworths slip, and the item is called "Fatigue Printed Ruffle". On-top of that, I was told if I'm not the one who personally swiped the item, then I must bring a photo of the person who bought me the item before they will exchange it. Please show me where on Truworths exchange policy does it say this? Or in the Consumer Protection Act? Miss Naidoo then left the shop and went on her lunch-break without handing over my exchange, leaving me standing in the shop and no one to finish the exchange because nobody knew what she did with the skirt. I had to ask the Manager , Mpume, to assist me but she told me they cannot refund me but I must take another item. Why should a customer be forced to take anything in the shop when the item required is specific for an occasion and refund right still within time and policy. The item was purchased 15th Dec, at Truworths and taken to Richards Bay Truworths early the next morning. I had to wait a whole hour for Miss Naidoo to at least return and bring back the item I came in to exchange, and others said they cannot exchange without her. Kindly advise what happens to my R550 I spent on the item since your staff decided to leave without anyone knowing where she put the item in question? Is this the kind of service you strive for? Treating your customers like ********* each time you do not agree to something? Even if Miss Naidoo for some prejudiced reasons felt I did not deserve a refund, she should at least have basic customer service. I'd like my money back for the item she chose to keep despite not returning from her lunch. Hlengiwe
