Will not buy from Truworths again!
My mother bought a blouse from Truworths Clearwater. She wore the blouse twice, and when she washed it, it had shrunk badly. She torn off the garment ticket, but cannot find the original receipt of purchase, although, she still has the garment ticket. She went to get refunded at Randpark ridge, & Clearwater, and to ask if she could swop the top for another - and was told she couldn't do that unless she could show the receipt. Although she still had the bag the garment was bought in and the ticket stub of the blouse, they refused to exchange or refund her due to the fact that she didn't have a receipt. She told them that due to the fact that she had worn the blouse and washed it, she may have lost the receipt, as you cannot return an item that has been worn. They were very rude and abrupt saying there was nothing they could do. This is bordering on theft by Truworths- she has proof she purchased the blouse - through her bank statement and the blouse ticket. SHe now has a blouse that is too small for her, and cannot get refunded!

I have been a loyal customer of yours for a long time, but am going to cancel my account with you due to your bad service and won't shop with you anymore
Thank you for your post and affording us the opportunity to respond.
In line, with our Returns policy we will gladly return or exchange merchandise which is found to be defective, if the merchandise is returned within six months from the date of purchase and valid proof of purchase is presented.
As the garment mentioned in your post did not fully comply with our policy, you were correctly informed by the stores that they are unable to assist.
We escalated the matter to the Store Manager of the store mentioned in your post and we are pleased to confirm that she has contacted you and that you have agreed to return to store with the garment and bank statement, on behalf of your mom.
Further to this, we wish to apologize for the manner in which the consultants assisted your mom whilst in store and can assure you that this matter was brought to the Managers of both stores to address with the store staff.
Should you have any further concerns or suggestions, please feel free to contact us on *** or via email on ***.
Kind regards,
Lynn
