Unsatisfied Customer

Truworths rep**** on my previous review that they are in accordance with all relevant legislation and guidelines issued by Government. Also they say that all customers need to wear a mask covering their mouth and nose. I was wearing a visor mask covering my nose and mouth. Government regulations state the following: "(1). The wearing of - a) a cloth mask; b) a homemade item; or c) another appropriate item, That covers the nose and mouth, is mandatory for every person when in a public place.

A visor mask does cover your mouth and nose and is another appropriate item in my opinion.

I am really not satisfied, no customer wearing a appropriate mask and not being able to enter a shop will feel like a valued customer.

We appreciate your feedback and affording us the opportunity to respond. 
 
Upon receipt of your concerns raised, we escalated the matter to our Management and COVID Committee to consider. In this regard, the updated Regulations, provide that a person: 
 
(a) must, when in a public place, wear a face mask, except when undertaking vigorous exercise and 
(b) may not be allowed to be in a public place, use any form of public transport, or enter a public building, place or premises, if that person is not wearing a face mask. 
 
In addition, the updated Consolidated Directions on Occupational Health and Safety Measures require us to ensure that members of the public wear masks when inside our premises. 
 
No provision for visors is made in terms of the aforementioned and accordingly, we do require that face masks be worn.

Reviewer Update
As a customer I will respect your response but do not agree with it and will therefore then only shop at Truworths again when visor masks are allowed which in my opinion are “another appropriate item" as stated in Government Regulations or until the pandemic rules are uplifted and we as customers will yet again be able to enter your stores without masks.
