Unprofessional invasion of personal space and harassment of young girls

March 2019: 1. My other half went to Truworths Cavendish at the end of March 2. She was looking for evening gowns for our girls. 3. While they were browsing the power was cut due to load shedding. 4. The staff started following them around the store, peeking around corners and glancing at them to make sure they didn't ***** anything. 5. This made everyone uncomfortable. My wife requested that they cease . She offered that they could search the bags before they left the store, but asked that they not skulk around after the children as they were getting uncomfortable 6. The most serious affront was when the staff came into the change rooms and OPENED the curtains while the girls were in their underwear, or half undressed, ie topless! These are young girls, all under 15years old! 7. My wife asked to speak to the manager and voiced her dissatisfaction. 8. They left the store thereafter. 9. I called the Truworths helpline and later contacted Cavendish management. 10. I eventually got a feeble apology from Truworths and a paltry offering of a few rands as a gift voucher 12. I am of the opinion that this is wholly unacceptable. My girls were subjected an unacceptable violation of their personal space. 13. 2 of the girls have subsequently mentioned that they were very uncomfortable and that surely it wasn't acceptable that the staff were allowed to peek in on them half naked.
