Truworths - worst returns policy ever

Received a gift, however it's not the right fit. I have the original invoice on hand. Visit a store to exchange the item for something else. Spend an hour looking for an alternative item. Stand in the queue for 30 minutes only to be told that I cannot exchange the item as it was bought on an account. Cashier informed me that they would need to credit the account and that I would require an approval letter from the account holder! Like which century are we living in. Firstly the person who bought the gift lives in JHB, secondly how could I possibly tell the person who bought me this gift that I now want to return it. The item has never been worn, still has all its tags attached and I have the original invoice but not able to exchange the item nor can they give me the cash. This is totally unacceptable. What do I do with a R600 item that I cannot wear??? Staff were also very blunt. For this reason I choose to close my own Truworths account and will never step into a Truworths store again.

BandoN
