Truworths Vangate Mall are ******

I am so shocked at the fact that although Truworths Vangate Mall's policy is that if you buy something for anyone as a gift. They are allowed to exchange it with the actual receipt for the same value. However, this is not the case with them if it's a person of colour. This in NOT the 1st, or 2nd time that i experienced this with them. The gift was for a black friend of mine. In a store full of people they rejected her from exchanging the item because it wasn't bought by her. Which made her feel like she was a *****. And I have to ask myself if it is because she is black? Because it is not the policy that the account holder needs to go to the store him or herself. This morning I called and I asked them if she can return the dress for something else from a recorded line and they said, before advising them of the experience... The lady rep****, "Yes mam that's not a problem as long as she has the slip" So how was it a problem when she was there. I am disappointed to such an extent that I want to close my account. An apology is NOT enough for such putrid behavior. I am shocked at this as they also cost me a friendship.
