Truworths Vaal Mall

Good day.

We had a very bad and disappointing experience this evening.

We went shopping for a baby shower gift and decided to purchase some items from the male's section.

My hubby and I are both account holders but we used his account for the purchase this evening.

We came to Truworths with the initiative to buy items for the baby shower.

When we got to the counter, the guy rang up the items(Double pack baby girl Naartjie baby grows, Double pack matching Naartjie bibs and DH pants).

My hubby double checked the slip and noticed something.

When we chose the baby items, the double pack baby grow was marked down with a penfrom R299.00 to R199.00.

He asked the cashier why is the slip showing R299.00 , the cashier rep**** that it's the sale price and the sale only starts tomorrow(2017/11/15). We asked him why is this item marked down on the tag now although the sale starts tomorrow. He said because that's the sale price.

We requested for a manager and waited a few minutes.

The manager came to us. He did not say a word until my hubby asked him why there's a price and another marked down price written on the same tag. He said that the item isn't on sale. He then picked an item showing us how it looks when an item is marked down. Then we asked him what that marking is so he said that he doesn't know. We then told him so why does your cashier tell us it's the sale price so he rep**** and said that it isn't so.

I then asked him why isn't the sale to come's items cordoned off so he just kept quiet.

So I then told him that according to NCA and CPA, this is wrong.

Then I told him that I will take this to the NCR and the CPA, he said that it's fine and I can do that.

This manager Practiced a manner of arrogance.

I told him I am taking photos of the tag as my proof and he said that I can go ahead.

I am very disappointed that Truworths has management with this low level.

I don't think that this individual is fit to be a manager.

This trip to Truworths was a waste of time and money.

We have things to do in the evenings.

Kind regards.

Sarisha.

Thank you for your post and the opportunity to respond.

We have investigated your concerns raised and liaised with management of the store in question.

We were informed that even though the price on the mentioned items was marked down at the time of your visit to the store, the amount on the ticket written in pen differed to the amount of the actual markdown amount .The sale was only due to start the following day and we apologise that this was not more clearly indicated.

We confirm that you were informed of this, and that the Manager also apologized for any frustration caused.

We are however pleased that you returned to the store on the day that the sale commenced, in order to purchase the items at the reduced price.

We trust that this matter was acceptably attended to and hope to see you in our stores again soon.

Kind regards,

Truworths Online Team

Good day. Thank you for investigating the matter. Which members of management did you liaise with? You have stated,"We were informed that even though the price on the mentioned items was marked down at the time of your visit to the store, the amount on the ticket written in pen differed to the amount of the actual markdown amount". We went back to the store the next day and bought the same item for R199.00 the next day. So please give me an explanation to why was the item marked down on your system to "R199", which is the exact same amount written down in pen on the price tag that the manager **** about? The next day when we went there, there was no reduced price tag on the tag where the marked down price was written in pen. The price tags was exactly the same as when we went the previous day. We also asked another sales man if this is the price, he said yes and double checked the system. Why are sale items not cordoned off with visible boards place to display that all those particular items are only on sale as from a certain date? In other words someone at your store is telling lies to cover themselves. I would have been more then happy if we were told the truth from the get go. Now it's coming to lies upon lies, upon lies, upon lies. I would have appreciated it if the manager had apologize from the beginning and told the truth. Now because we getting **** to over and over again, I am taking this matter to CPA. I am holding your manager to his word. I have all the photos and proof that he **** about this matter and he said that by all means that I can take Truworths to the CPA and Ncr. Please give me your email address where I can send you the proof that the item was bought at R199.00 Managers should be responsible, truthful, respectful and set an example to all staff. Secondly he **** infront of a staff member and was arrogant infront of him too. So what stops this staff member from practicing this with other clients? Kind regards.
