TRUWORTHS SOLD ME USED AND SOILED CLOTHING ADVERTISED AS NEW ONLINE
I ordered men's short online on 22 December 2025. The order number generated was o***. After many delays, it was delivered at the Wonderboom Junction branch. Upon opening the package at home, I discovered that Truworths sold me an old and soiled short. There was no price tag attached to it. The same day I received the order(06-01-2026), I sent an email to ***, attaching pictures and expressing my dissatisfaction and dismay. On 13 January 2026, I received a reply from a customer service consultant apologising for "confusion, frustration and inconvenience". The consultant advised that the matter has been sent to the Area Manager to investigate. True to form, that was the last time I heard from Truworths. It will appear that the business model is that if there is no stock, send the customer whatever you can get, even if it is a used item. The customer will struggle to prove that the item is as delivered by Truworths. The customer is stuck with a used and soiled item, and the business makes profit and moves on. This is an ********* business practice not expected from such a big business. Selling used items as new online to unsuspecting customers. It beggars belief really.
