Truworths service is falling

Bought my wife a top to sleep in for her birthday at eastrand mall and its the wrong size. I gave her the receipt to exchange for the correct size and now at alberton city and they dont want to exchange due to some nonsense about the receipt not being a gift slip. ***?!! Who operates like this?
