Truworths Reports Incorrect Data To Credit Bureaus
Hi, I'm writing this review out of pure rage.
I've recently got into banking and credit building, and everyone told me that Truworths is the best place to start.
Here's the deal, I have overpaid Truworths every single month, not just have I paid in full (and over), I did so within half the time Truworths required me to.
Every single time I get a credit report however, Truworths has reported my account as "In-Debt", "Unpaid", or "Gone over Credit Limit".
The first time buying at Truworths with my card, I go to the cashier and specifically ask "Let me pay now for the balance over my credit, then we can swipe the rest with my Truworths card." She takes a hold of my card, swipes it through, and then let's me pay. In that moment I didn't know what a big deal that was going to be, but apparently it was a -50 point knock on my credit score, I of course disputed it, and it was corrected for my next report, faulting Truworths for the mistake.
Currently I'm dealing with a dispute that knocked -29 off of my credit score, and I don't even understand why. My credit limit is at R500, I paid them R547.18 (Meaning they owe me R47.18), somehow, they report this as me being in-debt, Clearscore has been helpful with this, but they need documents from Truworths, and of course, I'm stuck, patiently waiting while Truworths sends me "New Deals!", wow...
Whoever sends my payment details to Clearscore needs to learn the difference between "Person owing the company" and "Company owing the person".
Good day, I hope this helps you make a more informed choice when starting to build your credit score.
