Truworths Hemmingways Cellphone ****

Good morning

I have a complaint ,bought a mobile phone Samsung J1 at Truworths on the 6th of June 2016, 3 days later i noticed that the camera was not working , took it back they gave me a new one, month later the it gave me problems when i took it back they told me that the Guarantee has expired which is 7 days , now the Warranty will kick in for it to be repaired, and that can take 3 weeks , the worst part is that the Sales Person is aware of these phones having proplems and they keep on selling them.

Thank you for your post.

Cellphone returns are subject to the terms and conditions of the service provider, in this instance being MTN.

In the event that the device has a manufacturing defect and this is identified and communicated within the warrantee period for the handset, it may be returned to store for an assessment by an MTN Service and Repair Centre, provided that the handset is returned in its original box with all the accessories.

You were therefore correctly informed that the handset would need to be sent for the warrantee assessment. This being said we acknowledge your frustration in this regard and have escalated this matter to the Store Manager. She has liaised directly with the representative for MTN to speedily attend to your query and is committed to provide you with feedback on the status of the assessment.

We trust that this matter will be successfully resolved once the assessment is concluded.

Yours in service,

Truworths Online Team
