Truworths ********** Accounts

So Truworths phones me and is demanding money for my account... Here is the thing.

I have never in my entire life had a clothing account at any store. So while I answer the phone and money gets demanded from me for account in arrears I request the date and location of opening of the account. I was told it was in Cape Town and no other details are available. I've been living in Johannesburg all my life and never have I stepped foot in Cape Town either. This will now reflect badly on my credit score, The operator were not even able to direct me to anyone that can help me with this account.

It would seem like companies these days are very quick to hand out any accounts with no proper paper work in place, No ID required, No bank statements no proof of address no nothing. On request of these documents to see that they do have their systems in place I was told that information could not be given to me... Should I not have the right to obtain information about my apparent account?
