truworths dont verify

I never had an account with truworths.yes i bought items there before but paid cash and never liked clothing accounts.to my surprise I found out I apparently have an account with them and that i owe them thousands. I dont think i can trust this business. do they verify the identity of people opening up accounts. another south african nightmare .the cherry on top is that the same happened at idenity. is everything in south africa messed up
