truworths does not need business

I went into truworths N1 city on fri 7th Aug at 2:00. The store was very quiet! I went into pay my acc and purchase something. There was two customers in the line. The poor lady behind the till was very busy all on her own with a customer and ur custoner services line trying to sort out a query for her. I stood in the line for 20 min min and noticed 3other staff members just standing around chatting. I asked if they could possibly help the lady behind the counter. I lady sent the one gentlemen with her to help me and in a huff he stormed off to the counter to help me! I could see this caused him major distress so I apologised for asking him to help but he ignored me!! I told him I would like to pay the acc and puchase items in my hand. He took my payment and stormed off. I asked the lady if he was coming back as I wanted to make a purchase. He was not happy about being called back so I left store and told then to keep the items! They couldn't even bother stopping me. I will be paying my acc off and closing it as truworths obviously does not need my business!!

Hello k76r,

Thank you for your post and affording us the opportunity to respond.

The service described in your post is truly unacceptable; as such we immediately escalated this matter to the relevant Store Manager to investigate your concerns raised.

We were informed that one cashier had indeed been appointed at the cash desk at the time of your visit to the store. This being said, the Store Supervisor should have been monitoring the flow of the queue to ensure that customers are assisted promptly. Further to this, we were informed that when the consultant walked away, he went to make an announcement to get authorization from the Store Supervisor as your payment was made using your Identity document; however he omitted to inform you hereof.

We believe that the Store Manager has contacted you to apologise for your experience and will also address this matter with the relevant consultant and supervisor. Further to this, she will also take this as an opportunity to remind all store staffof the importance of upholding our high service standards.

We hope that we were able to adequately attend to your concerns raised.

Yours sincerely,

Lynn
