Truworths "credit notes" be aware
My wife received an Earth Child branded gift for our toddler and it did not fit so we went to Truworths Somerset Mall and could not find a bigger size so decided to return it and get a gift card or credit note we even told the cashier that we would come in next winter and find a pyjamas then. We asked for a gift card but the cashier said we can only get a a credit note so we took it and left. Went to the Earth Child store today to use our credit note only to be told it is only valid for 3 months. This is their "policy". Firstly we were never informed about this policy and secondly what happens to the money that was spent to purchase the initial product which we returned? This is now free money for Truworths. Basically they have received money for providing nothing in return. How often is this being done? How much "free money" is Truworths collecting due to their "policy" does this not amount to theft? Taking money and then not providing a product due to their "policy" ? Please be aware of Truworths and their policies.
