Truworths Cornubia
Good evening, On the 31/12/2019 I visited the store at the Cornubia Mall. I purchased an item for my mum and made a cash payment of R700. The store was so busy so the lady took the cash and I took my purchase and walked out without checking my slip. I got home and discarded of the slips as I didn’t think I would need it.
2 weeks later, I get a call from your finance stating that I owe them for December installment. This was surprising to me as I remember clearly paying the R700 cash as my mum and sister as witness.
I eventually went back to the store, asked for the manager who was unhelpful and told him exactly what happen. He called that cashier, her name was Shanell or similar. She remembered me and the payment I made but it was nit allocated to my account. How is this possible. I asked for camera footage but apparently there are no cameras at the store.
Please can you investigate this further as this is of huge concern as to how does money disappear.
I would like for a polygraph test to be conducted on this cashier to clarify this. If this is a case of theft (I am Not stating it is) this needs to be taken seriously. If she passes the polygraph test, I will gladly pay for the test, however if she doesn’t, she will be liable for the R700 I paid and the polygraph test! I think this is fair enough.
I didn’t think that this would ever happen to a name brand store. Cashier should be polygraphed every month as they work with cash and this is a sensitive case!
I await your response urgently.
This is the response from the useless unhelpful so called manager with no managerial s****s or form of assistance!
Good morning this is Reshika from Truworths. I have tried calling twice on both your numbers . We have concluded our investigation and have found no payments for R700 made. Further to this my head office has declined your request to polygraph the employer as its not something we as a business do.
