Truworths - Clinique Rep Uninformed and not knowledgable

I received an sms from Truworths Liberty Midlands Mall notifying me of a Clinique promotion... Buy 2 Clinique products, one being a treatment and any other product. I went to purchase the 2 products which I required being the Anti-Blemish range products which all fall under treatment no matter which product you purchase from that range. I knew which 2 products I needed... was at the Gateway store 2 days before the promo started and was also advised of the promotion and the consultant also informed me I would get the 6 piece gift with the products I was to purchase. At Liberty Mall, the Clinique consultant was not there and the other lady who helped said she will need to call the consultant to check if I did qualify for the gift. I informed her I know I did because I had been to Gateway 2 days prior to the promo and I have been using Clinique for many years. The consultant then came back and informed me I would need to purchase a moisturiser or serum to qualify. I was purchasing the Anti-blemish cleansing bar and clarifying lotion. I then took just the cleansing bar and informed the cashier that I dont think the Clinique consultant was informed that I was purchasing the Anti-blemish range which are all treatment products. I then left the store, and decided to check online on the Clinique website directly... their ad stated 2 products, one skincare and any other product. went back into Truworths showed them the ad on Clinique website and automatically the gift was added. The manager called the Clinique consultant(Zizi) again to confirm and she said Clinique promo is different because theirs stated "skincare" not "treatment". The consultant was put on loud speaker and I explained that I am purchasing the anti-blemish range and she insisted that is does not fall part of their treatment range(according to her skincare and treatment are 2 different) and I will have to buy the moisturiser or serum. After wasting about an hour I decided to just buy the moisturiser which I didnt need and needed my clarifying lotion. I even mentioned to the manager that I have been using Clinique for years(I probably have over 10 of these gift sets from Clinique with all my purchases) and its the first time I heard that the Anti-blemish range is not a treatment and to me it seems the consultant does not know what she is talking about or is probably very new to which she rep**** she is working here very long actually. I contacted Clinique directly today and they confirmed that the Anti-blemish range are all treatments and both the ad's(Clinique online and truworths) are the same and that I did infact qualify for the gift and that I should have called the manager and I said did which was of no help because the Clinique rep said I didnt qualify. Clinique also confirmed the ad stating skincare and treatment are the same thing. I have screenshots of my messages from Clinique to prove this as well. After trying to call the store to speak to the manager after numerous times, I sent a message to Truworths via facebook messenger for Truworths Liberty Mall to contact me. The same Clinique rep Zizi from the day before contacted me... and guess what now... the anti-blemish range suddenly became a treatment and I should come back and exchange the moisturiser for the clarifying lotion. When I tried to explain to her that i tried to tell her what I was purchasing yesterday and that the Anti-blemish range is a treatment she didnt hear what I had to say and insisted I buy the moisturiser or serum... so I asked the question what changed from yesterday that today the anti - blemish range is now a treatment. She could not answer the question but tells me to just come back to the store(its the only way to sort this out). After me wasting over an hour at the store the day before I must now make a another trip back to mall to make an exchange on a product that I didnt intend to buy, when I could have got what I went for in the first place. This type is customer service is pathetic and maybe you should first hear what your customer is saying and verify properly without assuming.... By the way an ad just came up on Facebook for the exact same promo... "1 treatment and any other product" and guess what after I add the 2 products I initially intended to buy was added to my cart and I qualified for the promo. TRUWORTHS, please make sure your reps are more knowledgable regarding the products they sell and LISTEN to what a customer is explaining, not just try to get rid of you because you are not at work. Not even a proper apology given by the rep nor the manager.

Forgot to mention, the online ad today that I added the items I intended to buy was an ad from Foschini, not Truworths.
