TRUWORTHS CALL CENTRE HARASSMENT DURING COVID 19 LOCKDOWN

The day prior to lockdown I made payment to Truworths. Subsequently and every day without fail I receive approximately 5 - 6 calls from a call centre and I am also messaged requesting payment. I owe a balance of R 513.00 which I said I would settle at the end of the month yet I am constantly called and messaged for it. The lady who last called advised me that they were given permits to work. Who gave such permit to HARASS people during lock down? Farida from the call centre based in Durban then asked if I would be making payment "in store". Clearly Truworths does not understand the gravity of the situation. We are all fully aware of our obligations however can you understand that not everyone will be in a position to pay you and further being indebted to Truworths is not an open invitation to HARASSMENT by your call centre agents!!!!

Truworths and those mandated to collect on their behalf simply do not understand the predicament of the country and have taken it upon themselves to declare themselves "ESSENTIAL SERVICES" and place the lives of countless people at risk. The President's call for lock down was no joke ans whilst the rest of us adhere to the lock down guidelines - we are harassed by Truworths for payment. Please note that none of the other retailers are harassing us for payment!! Stop harassing people during the lock down. We are already stressed with the preservation of our lives and the lives of our loved ones.
