Truworths = beware your account limit means nothing

I have a Truworths account which I manage very carefully. Recently, I gave a person permission to purchase something for their birthday on my account. I knew I have a healthy account limit and that would protect me, right. WRONG!

Without my permission, without phoning me or asking for an ID, Truworths increased the limit on the spot and the person purchased R14,000 worth of goods on my account.

This means, if this was a burglar, they too, would be able to purchase for what I understand up to R30,000 before any limit would be instated.

So even though my limit is R7900, Truworths allowed someone to purchase on my account and increase the limit to what they call a temporary limit, without ever keeping to my agreed upon limit or requesting my approval in any way!
