total run arround

My wife and I received sms messages stating come into store as your credit has been increased or phone a given number. We drive 75kms to store and ask for the increase only to be told that we must bring in id proof of address and 3 months bank statements and a pay slip. Why were we not told this in the sms and how can you produce this on a phone call. 2nd time messed around. We have ample credit on our cards but not ample time to be shunted around. My cousin had gone to a different counter and his was done without these documents so why the double standards? why when a manager is called and we query this we get an I don't know and a shoulder shrug. 2 X Cards cut up by us in store. We are not here to be shunted around and have double standards. Consider our accounts closed and we will pay anything due upon receiving monthly statements. Pathetic service and bad staff attitude. Bye bye Truworths hello Woolworths and Markhams. ***

Hello spiders1,

We acknowledge receipt of your post.

When we request proof of income, it is definitely not to frustrate and /or inconvenience our customers. This is a requirement stipulated in the National Credit Act (NCA) and as a retailer who complies with all applicable legislation we are obligated to receive the necessary documentation when processing either a new account application or a credit limit increase on an existing account.

When the affordability assessment is done telephonically the proof of income documents can be sent to us either via email at *** or via fax on ***. Your identity number must be noted on these documents in order for us to link the documents to the correct account or account application.

We wish to assure you that your concerns have been noted and will be addressed with the Manager of our store concerned.

We hope the attention afforded to your query has reassured you of your importance to our company and that you will reconsider your decision to close your account with us.

Yours sincerely,

Lynn

Best regards,
