The worst retailer in S.A!!

I received a call from Truworths head office on the 14 July 2016 whereby the agent advised me she is calling in about my account in arrears. Confused I am as I remember making a May 2016 payment on the 10 May 2016 as per the statement I received. I explained to the agent payment was made and agent advised because payment was made in advance it does not mean I paid for the month of May and therefore my account is in arrears. At that stage I started becoming very annoyed as what she advised me did not make any sense. I told her Truworths staff are willing to take payments so easily but they do not ask there customers if payment is for the latest amount due. After the agents call yesterday I received numerous smses and emails making me out to be aaidayer simply because I paid in advance!!!! I will not tolerate such terrible service and I demand the arrears amount to be removed as I will not stop until this is resolved!! How many other consumers are being made out to be bad payers daily simply because they paid there accounts in advance and assume Truworths staff has customer service s****s by asking the relevant queations before putting payments through!!! I am demanding that I receive urgent feedback from a manager to resolve this issue asap!! I will make it a point to bad mouth this company for ripping people off and for making there customers out to be paid payers simply because some customers pay in advance!!!!

Thank you for your post and allowing us the opportunity to respond.

We have reviewed our records and acknowledge and thank you for your payment received on 10 May 2016. The statement period for May however ended on 12 May as such your payment was allocated towards the previous period and reduced the balance on your account.

When a customer makes a payment in advance they are required to advise the cash desk consultant in order for the payment to be allocated accordingly. We do however acknowledge your frustration in this regard and have allocated your payment towards your installment which was due 05 June, thus your account is no longer in arrears.

We regret that we were unable to reach you to discuss your concerns in this regard however trust that we have adequately attended to this matter for you.

Please feel free to contact us on 021- ********** or via email on ********** should you have any further enquiries.

Yours sincerely,

Truworths Online Team
