Terrible Experience Bridge Of POPI Act
I opened an account with Truworths in June of 2024 ...paid the account well until I became unemployed for a short while and subsequently my account was handed over to VVM Attorneys Which I didn't agree with I called Truworths immediately after finding employment to make an arrangement to resume payments on my account but was told to contact VVM which I didn't agree with as I wasn't given a notice to handover, as soon as that became clear that VVM is now handling my account that was freshly in arrears I went to Truworths stores in Randburg with the intent to get a debit order arrangements and I was referred to VVM which I told the consultant that I refuse to engage VVM to make arrangements on my account that has not been owing for all that long ...we'll VVM persisted with calls with and smss which I already know these are going to billed to me and I don't think that's fair, I guess after it was realized that VVM was unsuccessful now my account is handled by both VVM and FTI again in the beginning of June in efforts to make arrangements with Truworths i went to their Rosebank store and requested for a debit order to be loaded on my account and the consultant in the collection space told me on the phone that, they can't help me with an arrangement I need to contact VVM I told them that I refuse to deal with any other party accept for truworths directly as I know that I will be subjected to all sorts of payments and interest such as receipting fees telephone costs such as costs email costs and this ultimately will cause me to pay much more than what's owed On Friday 22 August FTI called my number and spoke to my brother about my account giving balance threatening to deduct money directly from my account no verification process took place Nokuthula just bad mouthed me and told my brother that FTI will then proceed with a summons that will be delivered to my employer
