Terrible attitude

I went to Truworths at The Glen. Brought R5800 worth of items to the till to be told they are offline, but can accept my card. They rang everything up and then told me the amount was over the floor limit and they had to get head office approval. They phoned headoffice (after taking my drivers licence as well) and I spoke to someone there who verified my details - Home address, tel number etc. They then told me that my licence had expired 2 days prior to today and until I could bring a valid ID they could not process my purchase.

My account is always paid in 6 months and I have a very good track record. I have purchased to that limit before (my limit is R15k) with no issues.

When I complained to there services department I got an email stating that ***** was a problem and they are sorry but (in essence) cannot help me.

My response as follows -:

Afternoon,

"The point is I answered all the questions re my ID - address telephone numbers etc.
I understand the ***** issue but a drivers licence that expired 2 days ago , plus my card, plus being grilled over the phone should have been enough.
Whoever at head office who said no had no reason to do so.
Surely your Company should use discretion.
Why bother asking all the security questions if you are still going to then turn around and say no?"

This is not the first time I will be closing this account. To make matters even worse I actually have a R1500 credit in this account that they also did not bother to take into account
