Store manager with an attitude

I bought an item on the evening of the 23rd December, fitted it on the 2nd after my holiday and returned it to the store around the 4th since it was not fitting. The first store (Festival) told me to return it where I purchased it as it looked as if it was worn. That came as a surprise to me since I didn't get to inspect the garment inside out. Went to Greenstone branch, spoke to a manager who first of all made her conclusion about me before I even finished talking to her. Spoke to me while she had another client in front, with a high voice and while she was also on the phone trying to assist another client. She spoke to me in a very disrespectful manner and made me feel like an invalid and a **** as she made everyone in the store to look at me. Having been a client of theirs for so many years as an account holder and still without an account I buy cash from them and never thought I'd one day be treated this bad. I left the store in tears after she took the item saying she would consult with her boss and give me a call before the end of the next day as she did not have authority to take it back. I am still waiting for that call and it's the fourth day .

Thank you for your post and affording us the opportunity to respond.

We can certainly understand your upset at not being able to get the respective dress credited.

We have been in contact with management at the relevant store, who informed us that your return could not be authorised as it did not comply with the terms and conditions of our Returns Policy.

We were informed that the dress was assessed in store by both the Store Manager, and subsequently the respective Area Manager. We also established that the dress was regrettably not in the same condition as when it was purchased.

We can confirm that the Area Manager has been in contact with you to further discuss this matter directly with you, and to inform you of the outcome to your query.

We are sorry for the manner in which you felt your query has been attended to, as it was not our intention to cause you any frustration.

We kindly advised that you collect your dress at the store at your earliest convenience, and hope that you will be able to accept our stance in this regard.

Kind regards,
