selling off prescribed debt

<p>I had the misfortune of being contact by some collection agency sending me text messages regarding a truworths account that i paid years ago. I settld in full and yet they still send me threatening texts abnout itc listings etc </p> <p>Truworths head office confirmed settlement in full so where is this collection agency debt coming from. </p> <p> </p> <p>I received a call on my cell earlier today wanting to speak to my wife. i asked what about they say Truworths account handed over .I was obviously now livid as my wife does not even have such an account and i remember she having one over 10 yrs ago which was closed and all paid up.</p> <p> </p> <p>I askjed the collection agecny who btw have a gmail account as their contact details and they sent me a letter with thier company letterhead saying Truworths sold debt to them and my wifes name was in the debt. </p> <p> </p> <p>it does not mention any Truworths account numbers or anything . they have my wifes id as well.</p> <p> </p> <p>Why would Truworths sell thier debt , even prescribed debt to agencies like these . I am not impressed by the disgusting manner in which Truworths conduct their affairs and levy unsuspecting accounts on customers in tihs manner . </p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p> </p>
