Security Check ********
I would like to inform you that i will no longer be shopping at your East Rand Mall Boksburg branch, due to the fact that even though you have nothing which suggests you are shoplifting, back packs are now being checked if someone you know is using a trolley for assistance.
I had 1 shopping bag in my trolley in which case i purchased food. Decided to take a look in truworths and as i came out the security guard requested my mother to open her backpack which was on the trolley, so she could search it as she could see the groceries that we purchased but she couldn't see in my mothers bag...
1. SECURITY SCANNERS NEVER WENT OFF WHEN I WENT INTO THE STORE AS WELL AS WHEN I WENT OUT. YET FOR SOME REASON MY MOTHERS BAG HAD TO BE SEARCHED. WHICH IS ******** AND CHASES CUSTOMERS AWAY AS THEY ARE MADE TO FEEL LIKE *********.
IF THE SCANNERS HAD GONE OFF NO PROBLEM - YET WE NEVER PURCHASED ANYTHING IN THE STORE. THEREFORE SHE HAD NO REASON TO CHECK THE BAG. BUT APPARENTLY THIS IS A NEW THING AS IT HAS HAPPENED BEFORE 2 WEEKS AGO AND I DECIDED TO LEAVE THE STORE AS QUICKLY AS I ENTERED.
YOU HAVE LOST A CLIENT WHICH WILL HAPPEN MORE FREQUENTLY AS I AM SURE I AM NOT THE ONLY CUSTOMER WHO FEELS THAT, THIS SUDDEN NEW PROCEDURE BY THE SECURITY COMPANY YOU HAVE WORKING BY THE DOOR IS NOT AUTHORIZED TO GO THROUGH SOMEONE'S STUFF UNLESS THE SECURITY SCANNERS WENT OFF.

So you can count on the fact that i shall not be visiting that store ever again due to the fact that i had purchased nothing in the store yet .. she could see the bread i had purchased in the trolley but couldn't see into my mother's bag! Great way to ruin a shopping trip on the weekend
CUSTOMERS HAVE NOT BEEN MADE AWARE OF THIS NUISANCE AND NOWHERE OUTSIDE YOUR STORE DOES IT SAY OPEN YOUR BAGS UPON LEAVING THE STORE.
SERIOUSLY ANGERED.
As we were concerned to read about the unacceptable incident that occurred at one of our stores, we immediately contacted the respective Store Manager to investigate this matter.
We have ascertained that the mentioned security guard was merely a relief worker, and not the actual in-store guard.
Whilst we acknowledge that all security guards are employed by an independent contractor to Truworths, they are mandated to uphold the international service standards which we expect from all staff as well as our affiliates. To this end, we can assure you that the matter has been discussed with the store security personnel, to ensure that this remains an isolated incident.
We believe that the Store Manager has contacted you to inform you of this and has also apologized to you for the incident.
We trust that we were able to acceptably attend to your query and once again wish to apologise to you and your mother for the incident.
