Rude and humiliating treatment

I went to Truworths at Wonderpark mall to pay my account around 3 on Sunday 05 June 2015. When I got there the store entrance at the LTD section was fully open. As I was almost towards the end of the LTD section I was confronted by a Dikeledi (truworths employee) telling me that the store is closed. I responded by telling her that the door is not yet closed and I am already inside the store. She rudely told me that it doesn't matter the store is closed. After about a minute or so of arguing only then was an announcement made to the customers informing them to proceed to the tellers as the store is closing. Even when I pointed that out to her she kept on refusing me to go to the tellers and told me that she will not let me proceed further and that they will not assist me. That augment went on for about 10 minutes IN FULL VIEW OF HER COLLEAGUES where at some point she tried pushing me out. When I told her not to touch me she then threatened to call the security from the mall for me as though I was a common ********. All this for trying to pay my account. The time we too arguing definitely way exceeds the time it would have taken me to pay my account. I felt so humiliated and maltreat

Hello Mabashanyana,

At Truworths we thrive on offering our valued customers service excellence of international standards.

As such, the service mentioned in your post is not in line with the high service standards we strive to offer our customers. This being said customers are allowed to enter our stores up until closing time. As you had arrived after 3pm; the store was officially closed and the open door was manned by two security guards to inform customers that the store was closed. At the time of your visit the Store Manager noticed you at the door talking to the security guard and she intervened. Although the Store Manager denies the allegations made by you against her, she apologizes for the way in which you felt.

We can, however, assure you that the matter is being dealt with by the Area and Divisional Managers of the store in question, who will investigate this matter and are committed to provide you with feedback once the investigation has been concluded.

We trust that we have adequately responded to the concerns raised in your post.

Yours sincerely,

Lynn
