RISK OF OPENING A TRUWORTHS ACCOUNT
I attempted to open an account online and was provided with a 15k credit limit based on a cursory supply of information. I went in store and was requested to provide 3 months bank statements. I returned on another day with 3-month bank statements and was told this was inadequate as only the banking logo was visible, which is how the bank permits them to be downloaded. I downloaded a confirmation/proof of account and forwarded the 3-month bank statements to an email titled ***** Department. I was again requested to submit a 3-month statement. I submitted the same statement provided by my bank. I received an email saying that my submissions were inadequate and did not meet risk requirements. I did the same process with the same documentation with another clothing retail store and they gave me an account with a 40k credit limit available immediately. My credit rating is impeccable. It was bad enough that I have to share my personal details with strangers and to be made to feel like a common ******** but to receive a notice like this after such a runaround is demeaning. It is almost as if I had to prove my good name when a telephone call to the credit bureau and to my bank would have resolved everything.
Good day Mr S**** Thank you for your documents Unfortunately the documents supp**** does not meet our risk criteria Your account will be closed Regards Zaynab
I would strongly urge people not to enter into any form of credit arrangements with Truworths because based on my own experience, new accounts are treated as potential ********s rather than as clients. Imagine sending your details to ********? The assumption is that you are a ********. If loss prevention is the goal, add a risk insurance to the account payments of your clients. Outsource the risk, don't treat your customers as the risk.
