Returning item purchased
My wife bought me sneakers on the 2nd of September 2015 but she had to return to the store to exchange them (3 September 2015). The reason for the exchange was because they were one size smaller. So on returning the item she gets charged another (R799.00) for the same item and then she is told the amount for the returned item will be returned to her account in 48hours.

Please forgive my ignorance if it is that I am ********. Why get charged the same amount again instead of just exchanging the item. The item was already paid for and now she has to sit with the inconvenience of having to wait for money to be returned to her account.

Truworths, please help me understand the logic to this madness.
Thank you for your post and allowing us the opportunity to attend to your query.
We acknowledge your frustration regarding your recent experience at one of our stores.
In line with our returns policy, Truworths will allow a full refund in the original method of tender, provided all the other criteria of this policy has been met.
We understand that your wife wished to exchange the garment, however as part of our in store process, the store is required to credit the goods received and to process a new transaction on the replacement goods.
We trust that we were able to sufficiently clarify this matter for you and hope that you will be able to perceive and understand our stance in this regard.
Should you have any further enquiries, please do not hesitate to contact us on *** or via email on ***.
Kind regards,
Lynn
