Returned damaged goods

Good day

On the st of September 2019 around 12H10 I purchased a pair of pink suede sandals with sku ***4 at Truworths mall of the south. I wore the shoes on the 14th of September for less than 3hours and the tips came out. on the 17th of September 2019 i returned the shoes back to the same store and i explained to them what i experienced with the shoes. They took back the shoes and told me that they will be sent for quality check. It took them close to 4weeks to give me feedback regarding what their quality check has found about the shoes.

Then on the 11th of September 2019 i received a call from a very rude employee by the name Thando from the same branch who advised me that my shoes are back and i must come and collect them, i asked them on which grounds am i collecting the broken shoes, she told me that they will not be replaced as the manufacturer gives me extra tips to put on when the ones that came with the shoes are broken. I told her that i am not accepting that feedback and they must send those shoes back to the manufacturer and they must credit my account with the amount of the shoes, she didnt respond to me and then she dropped the call on me. Yesterday the 16th of October i went to the very same branch, i spoke to a supervisor / manager on duty and i explained to her why i came there, her name is Pheello and she has a very very rotten attitude or behavior towards the customers. I told her that i will not take back the shoes as clearly it shows that the tips are not strong and they cannot expect me to buy the shoes and in less than a month they broke and they expect me to take them to the shoe repairer to put in the tips, she told me that if i dont want the shoes she will have the courier send them to my address and if i do not pay my account i will be blacklisted.

i asked why cant they as the shop take responsibility and take money from their petty cash and fix the shoes because according to her i am just crying over a small amount of money. i do accept the way i was treated by the staff there and i feel that my rights as a customer has been violated. I pay R460 for the shoes and now they broke within 14days that i have them. I do not want those shoes anymore and they must take them back and credit my account so that i can enjoy using my account, and this will be the last time i purchase from that branch.

Please assist with my query before i escalate the query to the ombudsman.
