Return policy sucks

I returned an article of clothing to Truworths only to hear that there is only 30 days to return articles. I asked them where in the shop it is indicated, but they told me it is in the small writing at the back of the slip. We spent about 5 minutes to find the condition as it is printed so small on the back. I feel it is unfair to the customer to say this after the fact as there was no clear indication during the purchase.
