Refusing to provide any sensible feedback on accounts opened **********ly

I receive monthly credit reports every month and last month I noticed that someone went on an account opening spree. The individual went to: – RCS (no accounts opened) – CellC (they conducted me because the application looked suspicious) – Foschini Group (no account opened)

But to my surprise, Truworths / Identity went ahead and opened no one but TWO accounts using details that (address, employment, residential) even though the details on my credit profile are up to date (contact number, address, employer).

I immediately attended to the problem and I asked multiple times to have holds placed on the account. Each time I call and I check, there are no holds on the accounts. And when I ask how far they are, they keep asking for documents which I sent the very same day I received my credit report and noticed the issues. No one wants to tell me WHEN exactly I will be hearing from the ***** department with a resolution. I keep being reminded about "HOW BUSY THEY ARE" as if I am not busy and wasting my money calling the call center.

My issue is why did they ignore the details available from ITC? My address and contact details are all correct. You do a simple credit report and you will get hold of me.

My advice to anyone wanting to get closer to the Truworths group is to stay as far as possible from these reckless lenders. The service is poor and no one keeps track of anything. When they answer the telephone calls, there is absolutely no telephone etiquette. No names – absolutely nothing. You literally have to dig hard and get their names when they send emails.

I am sitting here with a ********** account that was opened recklessly and with no one to assist.

Thank you for your post; we appreciate the opportunity to respond.

At Truworths, we view issues of ***** and irregular credit activity in a very serious light. Therefore when you alerted us of your suspicions that the account had been **********ly opened in your name, we requested that you provide the necessary documentation so that we could conduct a thorough investigation.

We sincerely apologise for the lack of feedback with regards to this disputed account, and for any inconvenience caused as a result of it. However, as we only received the required documents on 17 October 2017, we could only take action and resolve this matter on this day.

We are however pleased to confirm that the investigation of this account has been concluded and successfully resolved. A clearance letter will be sent to you via post, and a full ITC clearance will be done.
