PHONE REPAIR STORIES
Hi,

I booked my phone for repair, and was told to wait 30 days... I have phoned again to make a follow up, it looks like I must come back to the store and book it again for repair because Richard tells me that the phone came back and did not qualify for diagnosis because it has scratches. Tell me, where have you seen a phone bought and kept without a single scratch for some time? Why would you penalise me because of the scratch? I said the problem of my phone was overheating of the battery, why can't you replace the battery and bring the phone? The phone was hardly a month old, now I should pay R330 to \repair"the battery because the phone has scratches mtn cannot check its problem? That is customer abuse I am telling you. I have waited a month"
Thank you for your post.
We have investigated your concerns raised, and contacted the relevant consultant mentioned in your post.
As previously explained, we have investigated this matter, and as part of our Cell Phone Returns Procedure, once a problem involving the battery of the phone is reported, it is compulsory that it be sent to MTN for assessment to determine the cause of the fault.
Your cell phone was indeed assessed by MTN, but was declined due to the poor condition of the handset. You were therefore informed that you will have to return to the store in order to sign a document authorizing the repair of the phone by MTN. As your phone was merely sent away for assessment, MTN was not allowed to repair it without signed authorization from you.
We trust that you will be able to return to the store at your earliest convenience, in order to have this matter attended to without delay. Should you have any other concerns, kindly contact us on ***, or send an e-mail to: ***.
Regards,
Charmaine
