Pathetic Service. No TCF, NCA not in place

I am going to put this experience on Truworths since earthchild does not respond to hellopeter and truworths manager was called to the store to assist. So its only fair: On the 10th June (Yesterday), i went to earthchild at The Glen Mall. i wanted to exchange my child's dress as it was small.

I was told that 30 days has already passed and they cant exchange it. I asked the lady who was working there (Martha), who raised her voice at me telling me that she cannot help me. i asked her to call the head office as i am not about to lose R350 for something that i cant use. i dont need cash, all i need is an exchange. then im told its 13 days late and there is nothing anyone can do. She called a truworths's manager who came and told me that the items losses value if we keep them and not return them. REALLY? how did it lose value when the dress is still the same price on their system???? I would understand if the price changed, then its a different story. I was told that they need to log a call to the headoffice who are not answering their phone for authorization, but i was not given a REF number. I AM SO DISSAPOINTED WITH THE SERVICE. THE CLOTHES DONT COME CHEAP, BUT CANT EXCHANGE!! POLICY SAYS "EXCHANGE/RETURNS ARE GENERALLY ACCEPTED WITHIN 30 DAYS" THE DRESS WAS STILL IN A CONDITION THAT IT CAN BE SOLD AGAIN. MY CHILD DIDNT EVEN TRY ON THE DRESS AS THE SIZE WAS WAY TOO SMALL. WHERE IS TCF? YOU GO TO EDGARS NO ISSUES, WITH OR WITHOUT THE RECEIPT. I HAD EVERYTHING BUT STILL AN ISSUE. I AM GOING TO ESCALATE THIS IF I GET NO JOY. R350 IS REALLY A LOT FOR ME TO JUST LEAVE IT LIKE THAT.

At Truworths, we pride ourselves on offering international standards of merchandise and service excellence to our fashionable, quality-conscious customers.

In line with our Returns Policy, merchandise may be exchanged or credited within 30 days from date of purchase, provided that the original invoice is presented as proof of purchase; the swing ticket is still attached and the item has not been worn or used.

Upon receipt of your post, we deemed it necessary to escalate the matter for the attention of the respective Caretaking Manager. We were informed that when you came to store, the allocated returns period had already lapsed, and that they were unable to further assist you at the time.

We acknowledge your frustration regarding your recent experience, but confirm that you were contacted with regards to your concerns raised.

We pleased to that you will be returning to the store, and trust that the matter will be acceptably resolved soon.

Yours sincerely,
