Not honoring credit note

I am very disappointed in the service I received from Truworths. I have a credit note from something that I returned a while ago. When I went to use my credit note I was told that I wasn't allowed to use it as it had expired. The date on the credit note is 14 April 2015 so in my mind I had until 15 July 2015 to use it. They said it was from the original date which was in February sometime. Nowhere on my credit note does it give an original date of February. No one explained to me that I needed to use my credit note three months after the first credit note was issued. Truworths is therefore telling me that I am not intitled to use MY money that I spent in their store! I understand that I cannot receive my money back, I just want to be able to use the money I originally handed over to Truworths.

Hello Sarafuhri,

Thank you for your post and affording us the opportunity to attend to your concerns.

One of the Terms & Conditions for our credit notes are that they are valid for a period of three months from the original date of issue. This is clearly stated on the copy of the credit note provided to our customers.

We were informed that the original credit note was issued for items returned in February 2015. You redeemed this credit note against a purchase made 14 April and returned to the store on the same day. As the credit note is only valid for 3 months from the original date of purchase, you were correctly informed by the consultant that it becomes invalid after being redeemed.

As you were not satisfied with this decision, we confirm that you have been contacted by the Store Supervisor, who has attended to this matter for you.

Should you have any further comments or suggestions, please do not hesitate to contact us on, *** or via email one ***.

Kind regards,

Lynn
