none informative staff

i went to truworths in elloff and market street wanting to exchange shoes bought for me as a gift by my mother using her account, upon arrival i asked the securities by the door who then refered me to Kabelo who was chit chatting with his female colleague as if they were not on duty. Kabelo told me to go to the shoes department and choose the shoes that i want and that it did not matter that the shoes were bought by my mother, i did that but to my surprise when i got to the teller some coloured lady rudely told me i could not exchange the shoes that i should go and drag my mother to do the exchange. what a complete waste of my time, why didnt anyone tell me this was not allowed the moment i walked in? i would not have even entered the shop and waste my time, my mother lives in tembisa while i live in the vaal so that means i must wait until i can go to tembisa to get my mother for a mere exchange? and in the mean time the shoes i want might be gone by the time that happens and i think there is also a returns window period. the staff there are not helpful not to mention unfriendly and they have got no name badges to identify themselves. what kind of a business is that? no manager.

Hello nello07,

Thank you for your post.

We acknowledge your frustration in this regard and wish to apologize for the manner in which you were assisted on the day of your visit.

We therefore deemed it necessary to escalate your concerns to the manager of the store in question. We were informed that he has addressed this matter with the consultants involved as to ensure that all customers are assisted in the most efficient and professional manner at all times.

Following our telephonic conversation, we confirm that we have informed you of this and further advised you that a gift receipt needs to be requested by the account holder at the time of purchase which facilitates an effortless return for the gift recipient.

We confirm that you have informed us that the shoes have been given to the account holder to return on your behalf. We trust that we were able to adequately attend to your query and once again apologise for any inconvenience or upset caused as a result of this matter.

Kind regards,

Lynn
