No Bad Service as no Service at all

My husband bought me a lovely white tomato watch from the Truworths in George for my Birthday on the 12 March 2016. Last week the strap of the watch pulled apart as it seems to be glued together. I took the watch back to the shop and they advised it is only the watch face (Mechanical) that is covered - so after having my watch for just over 4 months - I cannot wear it and would seem I should just throw it away. I am very upset that such a company would not repair the watch after such a short period or at least try and assist with the repairs as the watch is still new. I have emailed truworths, tomato watches directly and the repair company that deals with the tomato repairs and to date not one person has contacted me back

We thank you for bringing this matter to our attention and affording us the opportunity to respond.

We were concerned to read of your query and therefore escalated this matter to the relevant management in store to assist. We were informed that the strap referred to in your post does not form part of the mechanism of the watch and therefore it is not covered under the warrantee. This being said, as you indicated that the strap is defective the watch should have been sent to the supplier for assessment.

We believe that the Store Manager has contacted you to discuss your concerns and that you have agreed to return the watch for it to be sent for the assessment. We wish to apologize for any inconvenience or frustration caused and trust that this matter will be successfully resolved once the assessment is concluded.

Kind regards,

Truworths Online Team
