misinformed gift card expires

I have a truworth earthchild gift card which belongs to my baby who got it as a gift. I went to the earthchild Cavendish square branch 3 weeks ago and I ask the tall thin lady to please check my card so I know when it will expire.

She took the gift card and then after a few mins informed me that the card will expire on the 21 st of february 2019. I then left the store thinking I still have over a month left so I will use the card in that period.I still thanked the lady and made sure I get her name.

On the 1st of February I went to canal walk and popped in at earthchild to purchase only to find out the gift card expired on the 21st of January. I called for the store manager and explained that this cant be correct. she then called the call centre who informed her that the card expired on 21st January. SHe aslo informed me that the card is a old one has no card number on it only a barcode.

I was really upset but didn't react because canalwalk staff tried to only help and was not there fault, however she suggested to get hold of the manager of Cavendish square to resolve the matter.

I went home and immediately called the call centre who advise to get hold of store manager. I then called Cavendish branch and got hold of Tayabah . I gave her the full explaination aswell as who the lady was at the store assisted me, little did I know assist me with wrong info....costing my baby her gift card.

Taybah said she will speak to the lady and her area manager fahima jakoet. this morning 5th February taybah phones to inform me that there is nothing they can do to fix the error.

Why must my baby and I bear the lost for sumone elses mistake. I am aware that gift card expire 36 months which is 3 years but on your gift cards there are no dates or on this on I got not evens a gift card number. So even tho it expires in 36 months I was mis informed about the expire date .

This is very wrong as truwoths and earthchild and naartjie outlet are not cheap yet I have loyally supported you where I can. Unfortunately If this matter is not resolved not only wll I lose faith in the brand but also be very disappointed in this bad customer service.

I can be contacted on **********
