Manageress need to update her standards.

Disappointing experience at Truworths. Went to Pavilion Truworths to buy a cellphone. Was assisted by Zama whom had referred me to her manageress. Was unable to produce I'D since it was in the car and I had parked miles away from the shop. Was prepared to adhere however I had a torn ligament and was unable to walk to parking and back. I had my drivers licence and worse I'm a Truworths client. They refused point blank to accompany me to my car. Ended up being chased without assistance.

No wonder companies are not meeting their headline earnings it's mainly because some employees are not sales driven and not customer service centrisic.

Thank you for your post and affording us the opportunity to respond.

We acknowledge your frustration regarding your recent experience at one of our stores. Upon receipt of your post, we immediately escalated the matter for the attention of the respective Store Manager.

The Store Manager confirmed that she was willing to have someone accompany you to the car and also for you to return to the front of the queue upon your return. We are unfortunately not permitted to sell any cellphone without the actual identity document, and the customer, being present in store.

We wish to further advise that the requirements, as set out by MTN, requires for the customer to provide both their proof of address and identity document, when they wish to purchase a cellphone.

We trust that you will be able to accept our stance in this regard, and hope that we were able to adequately respond to your query.

Kind regards,

Truworths Online Team
