Late Night Abusive Calls

As a long-time customer, I’ve always appreciated Truworths for its quality and style. However, my recent experiences with your customer service practices have left me incredibly frustrated and disappointed. Receiving automated calls as late as 20:30 at night is invasive, inconsiderate, and quite frankly, a violation of basic customer respect. After a long day, the last thing anyone needs is an intrusive call from a robot with no regard for personal time or boundaries.

This approach not only shows a lack of empathy but also raises concerns around legal standards for customer communication. Under the Consumer Protection Act (CPA), there are guidelines for reasonable calling hours to prevent businesses from disrupting people’s lives at inappropriate times. Furthermore, the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) outlines the right to privacy and prohibits the misuse of personal data, especially when customers haven’t explicitly consented to be contacted in this way. Repeated late-night calls risk violating both the CPA and POPIA, and I am seriously considering reporting this to the National Consumer Commission (NCC).

Truworths, I urge you to re-evaluate your communication methods. Respecting reasonable calling hours, providing an easy opt-out option, and prioritizing a more considerate approach would make a world of difference in how customers view the brand. Until I see a change, I’m rethinking my loyalty to a company that seems to prioritize aggressive tactics over respecting the very customers who have supported it for years.
