Inferior quality jacket

My dad received a gift card to purchase from Truworths for Father's day He went in and chose a jacket which was an Uzzi jacket on Saturday When he came home and wore the jacket the jacket would of not passed quality control .the material is cut high and low at the ends the inside of the jacket on the zip edges is cut blunt and the white is peaking through .so my dad takes this jacket to Truworths in westwood mall and as the return Is taking place the manager cannot sign off as the gift card has been discarded...yes can you ever be so ******** The manager asks for a gift card now which person buys an item to keep and then keeps a gift card a receipt yes not the gift card and he confirms this is the policy I have read the policy and this not stated anywhere. It's just bad clothing sold at very high prices and a company like Truworths who now after 3 days refuse to return the item. I will not go back to Truworths to argue with people that cannot make a decision.i suggest a manager from the head office contacts me and explain to.me where I am supposed to go find a disposed gift card whilst I'm in possession of a ****py jacket this is not treating the customer fairly.i would like a cash refund as I will not be purchasing from Truworths any longer .
