INCORRECT DETAILS ON SLIP - REFUSE CASH BACK
I bought a dress about two weeks ago at Truwoths Nelspruit and paid for it with my cheque account. I wore it twice and afterwards the whole dress became damaged with small little holes - its a "t-shirt material.. I paid R525 for the dress. This morning I took it back for return but unfortunately Thruworths' system has been programmed that, does not matter which account was used to pay with, it shows as CREDIT CARD and therefor they DO NOT GIVE BACK ANY CASH for any card payments. Although I showed them my card, reflecting TJEK REKENING, they refuse my cash back. I told them the previous time they reverse money on my card, I had to wait 12 days for my money back - after 5 calls later and a lot of tantrums.... the funds reflect after 12 days - although they claim that is should only be 4-5 days (also too long to wait for your money when an item was returned.. I am extremely disappointed in the way JANE MOKOENA (area manager) and LIZELLE VD VENTER (STORE MANAGER) handled the problem. I HAD TO accept the return of funds on my Tjek card though, but will for sure not buying at Truworths in future any more. Truworths should REALLY just UPDATE their system to reflect the correct sales details and not for their own convenience, not acting to meet the client's expectations if they claim in public that their clients' needs come always first.
Thank you for your post and allowing us the opportunity to respond.
We would like to apologise to you for the manner in which you felt your query was attended to at the store in question, as it was not the intention of the staff at the store to cause you any unnecessary inconvenience.
When an item is returned and all the requirements of our Returns Policy are met, we will allow a full refund in the original method of tender.
At times, the customer's chip and pin bank card reflects as a credit card and not a debit card, when scanned. These cards are known as hybrid cards and banks classify them as credit cards. As advised, banks usually take between five to ten days to process refunds on these cards.
We confirm that this was communicated to you in store. We value your feedback and hope that we were able to acceptably address your concerns raised.
Should you however require assistance with any other matter of concern, please feel free to contact us directly on *** or send us an e-mail to ***.
Kind regards,
