*********** Store Manager
I bought a dress that was marked down from R420, to R210 in Truworths Ilanga mall, Nelspruit . I only realised when I was home in Pretoria that they rang up the dress for R280 instead of R210. I then visited a different Truworths (Highveld Mall) and brought this to their attention. They made copies of the slip and tag and faxed them to Ilanga Mall. The manager was contacted telephonically and he refused to make the correction. I got onto the phone with him and he told me to drive all the way to Nelspruit, otherwise he will not make the correction. He then hung up the phone. I live over 350km from Nelspruit, how can a store manager say something that stupid to me? I am highly disappointed in the lack of service I received from Truworths Ilanga mall. Their manager, Ndumiso Nkosi, is just stupid!
Thank you for your post.
We have investigated your concerns raised and established that at the time of purchasing the dress, the store was preparing for our Pink Rail sale which commenced the following day on 16 September.
Thus, as the dress was purchased prior to the sale, it was correctly scanned for the original sale price.
However, we acknowledge that the store did not follow the correct procedure as a section in the store had to be cordoned off to prevent customers from purchasing the items that were selected for the Pink Rail. As such, we have brought this matter to the attention of the relevant Area Manager who will ensure that all staff in the store is retrained on this policy and procedure.
We are pleased to confirm that you were contacted and that the marked sale priced for the dress has been honoured.
Although the Store Manager denies displaying the behaviour mentioned in your post, on behalf of Truworths, we wish to apologise sincerely for the manner in which you felt you were attended to.
Kind regards,
Chevola
