Impossible accounts department

I'm very disappointed in Truworths. I bought something 2 months ago on my account, and took it over the normal 6 months interest free. For some reason I under paid the amount, which I still don't know how it happened, because if you took the purchase divided it by 6, I actually paid more. Anyway. The I received a rude phone call a month ago, to ask me if I will be able to pay my account because I under paid it the last month. In anger I told the guy I will settle the account and close it. I receive an sms now, that I must please remember to pay Truworths the full amount as promised by today? I mean really? I have NEVER skipped a payment. There must be 3,000 people that owe Truworths thousands of rands and now you pick on the people that don't even have such big accounts? Track down the idiots that keep buying on credit that actually can't afford it, and stop annoying me. I will close my account now after payment.

Hello Nikitad87,

Thank you for your post and allowing us to clarify your concerns.

We confirm that the purchase mentioned in your post for April 2015 was indeed made on a 6 months interest free plan. However, during this month the Annual Service Fee (ASF) of R26.00 was debited to your account thus your installment due included this amount. This was set out in your month statement sent to you on 10 April.

As the total was not received by the due date your account fell into arrears. Once an account falls into arrears correspondence is automatically generated as a reminder of the importance of bringing your account up to date and that your credit worthiness is an asset.

As our collections consultants are mandated to uphold our high service standards when contacting customers, we will certainly bring this matter to the attention of the relevant Collections Management.

We wish to thank you for your payment received and confirm that your account has been brought up to date with payment. We trust that we were able to adequately clarify your concerns raised.

Kind regards,
Lynn
