I bought a shoe that was damaged the following day and I received a bad attitude and unsatisfactory treatment when I return the shoe
I bought a black slingback shoe at Truworths in Umtata, BT Ngebs Mall. I bought this shoe on the 11th February (Sunday), then on Monday I put on my shoe to work, around 10 am when I was on my way to a meeting I heard noise when I am walking then when I check my shoes, I discovered that I lost 1 tip. I felt so embarrassed walking around with a noisy shoe, but I had no choice because I did not have another pair of shoes. I walked around with that shoe till the end of business. I went home to change the shoes, then I went back to the store. I asked for an exchange or a refund, the lady at the till called her manager. The manager said they will take the shoe to their head office in Cape Town for Quality Assurance and I I will get feedback after 2 weeks. I said what should I do in this 2 weeks because I bought this shoe so that I can wear it at work, should I buy a new shoe whilst you busy with your quality assurance? You can see that I bought this shoe here yesterday, here is my receipt and now you tell me about 2 weeks. She said it is up to me to buy or not buy another shoe, because this matter is beyond her store and these shoes they come with extra tips, so I should have replaced the tip instead of walking with the shoe without tips. I asked her if I was supposed to carry tips everywhere I go, she said those tips are put in that box for that purpose. When I bought the shoes, nobody told me that I should carry the tips everywhere I go and nobody taught me to replace tips as I am not a shoe mechanic. I told her that if they were transparent enough I could have never spent my R420 on a shoe that I need to carry tip from day 1. So I am still waiting for the feedback in 2 weeks time, this is annoying me.
Upon receipt of your post we immediately liaised with the Store Manager in this regard.
We were informed that the manager assessed the garment and could not establish if the defect was as a result of a manufacturing fault. She therefore correctly informed you that the garment would need to be sent to our Quality Assurance Department for further assessment and has prioritized your return for feedback. We were informed that the Store Manager will be in contact with you until this matter has been resolved.
We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and frustrations caused and trust that this matter will be successfully resolved once the assessment is concluded.
Kind regards,
Truworths Online Team
