Horrible customer service
I'm appalled at the manner in which I have been treated at Truworths Daveyton mall, my problem is that it's not the 1st time being treated unprofessionally, I believe I'm a customer and should be treated as such. I've had an incident where someone had bought me an item with a bank card and gave me the slip so I can exchange the size if it does not fit, unfortunately the item was out of stock and I had to ask for a refund. I was told the bank card needs to be present for the sale to take place, I had to wait for over a week for the cardholder to go to the bank and replace their card then go to the store to get a refund. To my surprise that person said that they did not even ask for that bank card and just refunded her. I did not bother to even report this one cz I just thought it's petty.
Yesterday I again went to the store during my lunch, mind you I don't work at the mall, I take some sale items and go to the cashier to pay, I was allowed to pay in cash because of loashedding, my sale was done manually, I did not have a problem cz I had the cash, I got irritated when the cashiers had to call each other and ask about further markdowns and because they did not understand the prices and asked the managers who walked out then came back and aologised due to some emergency.
I did say that everytime I come to the store I'm never treated well.
Today I went to the store again on my lunch to refund one item and exchange the other because of size, I understand the system was offline and had to wait, but now again I had to explain that I do not work close to the store and by the time I knock off they will be closed, I was not attended to in the correct manner, instead I was ignored, I had to ask again that if you are so quick to make a cash sale manually but cannot refund or even exchange manually what is the point, I'm using my time and travel expenses to come to the store to get what I need which is also to grow the store sales, this time I was ignored and told I must come back some other time.
I can easily understand if I'm disappointed by a cashier, I could say they are probably not trained well, but they did not give me any attitude, instead they empathised with me, I cannot say the same thing about the 2 ladies managing the store, they did not even suggest a workaround for me. I hated every moment of wasting my time, speaking valid things and not being attended to.
It is such moments that you find people saying they prefer not to go to stores in the location and opt to go to town, I'm now sitting with 2 items that I do not require, a system being offline is beyond anyone's control, but the manner in which I was ignored with facts and not given responses is a big issue for me.
I believe service is more important than goods and I don't have to stress the fact that I know how retail stores have to operate for my or any customers satisfaction. And to feel like I'm at the store to beg when I actually used my money and not an account to by, makes me sick.
