Handed over after 1 skipped payment.
Hi , its with great disappointment that i have to go as far as loading a complaint on this platform , i have never had any problems with the store in the last 4 years.

missing one payment for february after advising the consultant i lost my job but will continue payments in March. I get over 20 calls in the last month (understanding no arrangements was made)

to my surprise on the 13/03/2016 i recieve 2 sms's YOUR TRUWORTHS ACCOUNT HAS BEEN HANDED OVER TO MBDCS FOR COLLECTION.

This morning a lady called me to advise me to pay immediately , i understand and i take full responsibility for my failure to pay but as a store i believe they have no right to hand my account over to attorneys for 1 month instalment missed.

I will take matters further if this affects my credit profile i will go to court as yes i didn't make arrangements but by law i understand 3 months + accounts get handed over to attorneys not for one month.

i am requesting an urgent response from anyone in leadership and not from the call centre to explain to me why am i seen as a bad payer for skipping one payment.

Thank you for your post and for the opportunity to clarify this matter for you.
According to our records, this account has reflected in arrears since December 2015. The payments made were however not sufficient to bring the account up to date.
As such, additional charges are incurred, and communication regarding the status of the account is sent out on a regular basis. Be advised that the account has also not been officially transferred to an external collections agency, but that they are merely administering the account on our behalf.
As mandated by the National Credit Act (NCA), Truworths (as with any credit granting company), submits information concerning payment profiles of our customers to all credit bureaux on a monthly basis. We are therefore unable to alter or remove this information in any way.
We urge your fianc? to make an arrangement to bring the account up to date as soon as possible in order to keep his credit record positive.
Kind regards,
Charmaine
