Frustrating!!!

I recived a shirt as a gift which was purchased from you guys , however this was the wrong size. The person who bought the gift gave me the receipt so if I needed to return it, I could glady do so. I went to the Phoenix branch with the original purchase slip to do the exchange and was turned down since the store "needs to validate the cheque/credit card which it was purchased from". This was a gift which was given to me and for obvious reasons I dont have access to other persons card. The store assistant who I assume is the supervisor, signs my slip and advises me that "I should get a hold of the person who bought me the gift and ask them to send me a picture of their cheque/credit card?"

Who in their right mind would send pictures of their cheque/credit card details to a work colleague? Is cheque and credit card information not regarded as perosnal and sensitive?

Well to top it off... I found a replacement garment which was an exact replica of the shirt I needed to return, only difference is that it is a bigger size. I was told that the store can only keep the shirt for two days on hold for me. I explained to lady that I only return to work on Tuesday, I still need to talk to the person who bought me the gift and also explain the hassle you guys are giving me,since I need to get a picture of her cheque/ credit card to do a return of a garment which was not bought on a truworths account? The lady said unfortunately there is nothing she can do until I get this information.

How hard can it be returning something in exchange for the exact same value and styling?...only size differs?

This is frustrating!!! Returning something which was purchased from a big brand clothing store, could be such a nightmare!

Please review your exchange policy, beacuse its the most inconvenient one ever made!
