I have been receiving sms's and emails stating that I owe thousands of rands on a truworths account. The person that opened this account merely used my id no. email address and telephone number. I know that this is not legal under the consumer protection act as the identification documents could not have been the originals as I have them in my possession, this person stated that he lives in Umtata, I have never lived there and never will...It boggles the mind to think how easy it is to open an account if all that is required is the id number, email address and telephone number. Truworths verification process is a sham if this is the case. I have been told that it is now MY responsibility to prove that this was not me, when in fact it is on Truworths to prove that it was...which they will not be able to. Over to you Truworths!!! Good luck in trying to find me in Umtata...but FFS stop sending me sms's and emails and cancel the account and YOU go and open a case with the police...cause I wont be doing anything more about your incompetence! That is your problem, not mine!

I was told that this account was opened via sms...seriously???

I will be writing a complaint review everytime I get an sms asking for money...as I have had no feedback from Truworths and they continue hounding me...hurry up and sort this out, it is irritating, it wastes my time and is ********!
